And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

Walk-Thru-Bethlehem

One of our dear friends told us about this great festival at a nearby church.  They re-create "Bethlehem" and invite people to go through the town learning about what it could have been like when Jesus was born.  We were so impressed how detailed and thought-out all of the stations were.  I did not take nearly enough pictures to show how great it was, but here are a few.

Caleb got to ride on a donkey, just like Mary! (Well, Mike and I go back and forth about that statement...no one really knows if Mary rode a donkey, it doesn't say in the Bible, though you will find a donkey in every nativity set sold even though the shepherds are often missing!  Alright, stepping off my soapbox now.)

Caleb really enjoyed the little circle around the parking lot.

They even brought in "snow" for the kids to play in.

Love the shorts and T-shirt (and the sweltering heat that day) while Caleb is playing in snow!

Another "station" was to ride a camel.  What an interesting experience.  This was Caleb's second ride on a camel, but Ethan and Momma's first.  Ethan thought it was great!  I must say that it was the most uncomfortable ride ever!!  I would hate to have to travel by camel anywhere.

Inside this large room were many little "booths" where the children could make things to take with them and get their map stamped to show they had been everywhere.  The people at every booth told us very interesting information about the culture and times of Jesus.

Here's Caleb and Dada learning how to play the dreidel game.  Caleb was given a small dreidel to take with him and we played over and over again when we got home!

Wow!  An actual smile from Caleb, not the cheesy four-year-old smile.  Can you tell he had a great time?
